Frequently asked questions

Why billed is more than ran, a missing repository, $0 runs.

Why is "billed" more than "ran"?

GitHub rounds every job up to a whole minute. Four jobs of 20 seconds each ran for 80 seconds and are billed as 4 minutes. More.

Why does the cost not match my GitHub bill?

Kaptimus does not take off the free minutes included in your GitHub plan, because it cannot see how many you have left. It shows what the minutes are worth at GitHub's published prices. Use it to see where the minutes go, not as your invoice.

Why is a run $0.00?

Usually a public repository on a standard runner, or a self-hosted runner — GitHub charges nothing for those. Check the Visibility column. That is different from not priced, which means Kaptimus could not work the cost out.

A repository is missing

  • On GitHub the App may have access to only some repositories. The Accounts page says "GitHub gives Kaptimus only N repositories" with a link to change it.
  • The account may not be ticked. Only an owner can tick it.
  • You may be an admin of some repositories only, so you see only those — Who sees what.

I am an owner but I cannot tick the account

Kaptimus asks GitHub at every save. If GitHub says you are not an owner of that organization right now, the save is refused. If GitHub did not answer, nothing is changed — try again in a minute.

Two rows have the same run number

A re-run is a new attempt, and GitHub bills each attempt on its own. Both rows are real.

Does Kaptimus read my code?

No. It asks GitHub only for Actions runs and jobs, repository names, runner details, organization members and roles, and your email address. The Privacy policy lists everything it keeps.

What does it cost?

Today nothing: Kaptimus is in early access. The plans on the home page show what it will cost; they cannot be bought yet, and nothing is charged without your clear yes.
